Choppinomics: In the Clutch, Government Fails Auto Industry…

Reporting from Washington D.C. today for get2choppin.com is the dual threat and the head of the Politically Choppin' and Choppinomics bureau located in the nation's capital, Dick C. Chopper.

I am by no means a self-proclaimed expert when it comes to the latest auto industry bailout talks but I am a great bullshit detector and if the Big Three would have had driven to Washington D.C. in cars that run on bullshit they definitely would have found plenty of fuel for the ride home.

These out of touch Senators and House Representatives are cowards that are just curb stomping America’s middle class when they are already down. Are these pompous windbags worried about their mortgage and their job? Tell me that. Do they know what it is like to have to constantly worry about losing their job, house, and everything that they have worked for? I highly doubt it because they are too fucking concerned with what the Big Three ate for lunch and how they got to a damn meeting over 500 miles away. Maybe next time they should take the wonderful public transportation that the State and Federal Government has provided for the American public.

Side note: Why aren’t all Congressmen required to use public transportation since they public servants?   Plus since they are servants I think they should all have to wear butler and maid costumes, I mean they’re actions are already ridiculous why not dress the part.

Where was I, oh yeah, why is that when the banks come crying to the Federal government they took less than a week to cut them a check for 700 billion dollars, which they have yet to use by the way? While the Auto Industry is asking for a measly 4 percent of that amount as a loan and yet they are received like it is the Grand Inquisitions. McCarthy’s Communist witch-hunt of the 50’s was more civil than the reception than the Big Three got from Congress.

Oddly enough it is the bitter Republican Party that took a huge hit this election that voted against the bailout. They are single-handedly trying to kill the unions that represent and fight for the rights of the American worker. If this isn’t enough evidence of the elitist attitude that seeps from the pores of everyone stinking Republican than I don’t know what is. If they had their wish I believe they would wave good-bye to the American class and not miss a wink of sleep.

The 700 billion banking bailout hasn’t made it easier to get a home loan, it hasn’t restored the depleted 401k’s of numerous individuals that will now be working for another decade or so to secure their future, it isn’t putting Christmas presents under the trees of out of work families, it isn’t keeping families in their homes. Yet the Auto industry bailout gets nixed faster than the idea of Martin Luther King Jr. being the pastor at a Klu Klux Klan church. These Southern Republican’s need to take the foreign auto kickback money they have falling out their greased pockets and fucking by a clue.

Oh yeah did I mention one of the reasons why the auto industry needs the bailout is because the fucking banks that played blind man’s blackjack with our money won’t lend them anything to cover daily expenditures that they use to do so willy-nilly. The shame is that we no longer take pride in being and buying American. Brazil and China get it, their governments help support the auto industry and don’t turn their backs on it so other competitors in the now global economy can come swooping in like vultures to pick apart the remains of a once great part of America. Of course, all our congressmen are doing is asking if these vultures would like a little Grey Poupon with what is the dying car-cass of the American Auto industry.

The American Auto Industry is a flawed industry and definitely needs to be retooled and restructured to meet the demands of the global marketplace but it is not time to abandon one of the cornerstones of American history. The UAW is making concessions, the Big Three are humbling themselves before Congress, but yet the government is truly enjoying the role of the know-it-all Big Brother and holding this failure over the head’s of working class America and the Big Three.

In addition to handing out $700 billion for the banks, the government has no clue what the banks are doing with that money.

Merrill-Lynch recently gave out FOUR MILLION DOLLAR BONUSES to their top CEOs to keep them from jumping to competitors. What kind of competitive offer could they receive? All the banks are fucked.

Another CEO volunteered to work for $1 a year (I forget which bank), yet in this contract are also "performance-based incentives". These incentives are not specified, meaning this CEO can make just as much as he did before. All a big publicity stunt.
